Early October commenced the third phase of our farming journey: Flowering. As leaves brown across the country, our cannabis plants are in full bloom on 240 acres of farmland, now being harvested and processed live within minutes.
Every Terpene Belt Farms cannabis vintage stems from its own unique circumstances, and this year was no exception.
2022 Vintage Notes
To view any one vintage as the period the plants were in the ground loses the perpetual nature of farming. As soon as the grounds are dry enough to work up, the field work starts. Fortunately and unfortunately, December ‘21 was one of the wettest on record but it was not enough to break the drought conditions across the state.
Mother nature combined with our late harvest in 2021 pushed out the start on the field prep for the 2022 season, pushing our planting date deep into the summer. The early stresses of 100° days in their infancy made the crop exceptionally resilient. The crop basked in a Labor Day heatwave that lasted more than ten days. The season even brought us early rain, which provided the plants an opportunity to rinse off as they headed towards maturity. We experienced ideal ripening conditions consisting of warm days and cool nights topped off with mild winds.
Initial field sampling of the oils are proving the 2022 vintage to be our finest work to date.
We thank our operations team that catches every curveball mother nature throws.
What’s expected from this year’s harvest
In accordance with today’s consumer trends, our this year’s acreage is heavy in Sweet and Fruit flavor profiles, with a dash of Gas and Pine.
The nature of vintage based farming means that no exact amount of any oil flavor is guaranteed, but our strengthened genetics and refined farming processes get us closer and closer to our target output each year.
