WHO THIS IS FOR

R&D, Manufacturing, or Product Development teams that are:

  • Interested in standardizing and scaling CPG-style pre-rolls
  • Looking to create new pre-roll lines with enhanced or additional flavor
  • Looking to create new pre-roll lines with additional cannabinoids and flavor
  • Have an existing pre-roll filling SOP that requires more scalable inputs

PREPARING SOLUTIONS FOR PRE-ROLLS

Using the “bottoms-up” approach” (method standardization), the Fresh Never Frozen® solution guides linked in the pdf guide provide a standard methodology for creating concentrates that can be dry or wet-infused.
Using the “top-down” approach (product standardization), the TBF team has built a calculator to assist in achieving your terpene and cannabinoid targets. Please reach out to our team for technical assistance as this is a complicated yet rewarding path.

Once you’ve formulated one of the solutions, use the guides within the R&D Guide pdf for step-by-step guidance on mixing the solution with flower for pre-roll production.

Continuous feedback, continuous development

Now that you have completed R&D on new pre-roll product lines, you have your first opportunity to employ user feedback groups or scale up to an initial production batch to gather consumer feedback and sentiment. You will inevitably find that you want to continue to evolve and adapt your formula, quality of inputs, intended outcomes or all of the above. When adapting your pre-roll product strategy or formulation, update one variable at a time so you can ensure you have identified the updated results based on that specific change. Test with feedback groups or consumers again and continue to iterate until you have reached your desired outcome.
