WHY ADD ANYTHING TO FLOWER?
AS FLOWER DRIES AND AGES, TERPENE PROFILE IS ALTERED
Terpene loss results in diminished aroma, flavor and effectiveness — creating a lower quality product and poor customer experience.
CONSUMERS WANT TERPENES AND THC IN BALANCE
Cranking THC through the roof doesn’t result in increasingly happy customers over time. To create experiences that resonate, flavor needs to be a priority.
PRE-ROLLS ARE A TOP CATEGORY IN CANNABIS
(If not the top category!) This rise is coming from innovative companies rapidly iterating form factors and product formulations.
HOW NEU BAGS WORK
NEU Bags suggested per pound to achieve or maintain
up to 5% terpene content in your flower.
NEU Bags are mesh infusion bags saturated with terpenes. Once a NEU Bag has been placed into a bag or bin with whole flower buds, the diffusion process gently migrates the oil from the infusion bag to the flower. Over the course of the first 48 hours, substantially all of the terpenes will have left the infusion bag and become saturated into the flower.
NEU Bags are intended to improve the aroma, flavor, and effect of flower that is in need of increased terpene content. The solution is reparative, but it can also be used with fresh flowers with high terpene content.
As we began developing this flower infusion method for use in pre-roll, we set a north star goal of increasing the total terpene content in one pound of cured flower by one percent — without the need for new equipment or overly involved SOPs. Understanding the need for timeliness in operations, we aimed to deliver results in as little as 48 hours. The starting moisture of the flower should fall within generally accepted industry standards. NEU Bags are not designed to adjust the moisture content of the flower.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Required Materials
- Flower
- Neu Bag(s)
- Airtight Vessel
- Personal Protective Equipment
STEP 1: Gather the flower you want to improve
You will need one Neu bag per pound of flower, rounding up Neu Bags for partial pounds.
Tip: If you really want to turn up the aroma, use 2 or more Neu Bags per pound of flower.
STEP 2: Ensure the vessel to be used during the infusion is airtight
When performing an infusion, it is best practice to remove any excess air from the headspace (the extra air above the flower) in the bag or bin. We recommend mylar as the best material for the infusion period. Plastic bins are convenient for larger infusion batches but are less effective due to the headspace.
STEP 3: Place Neu Bags evenly throughout the flower
Adorn personal protective equipment, specifically protective gloves before handling NEU. Open the NEU Bag packaging and remove the infusion bag and place it in the middle of the flower.
STEP 4: Seal the vessel
After sealing, record the start time of the diffusion.
STEP 5: Turn the flower
Do this a minimum once per day but not more than four times in a 24 hour period. When turning the flower, open the vessel, remove the infusion bag, stir the buds around thoroughly and when you return the Neu Bags to the flower, ensure they are evenly redistributed before resealing the vessel. Continue the infusion for a minimum of 48 hours.
STEP 6: Remove infusion bag (if slated for immediate use)
If the material is not slated for immediate use, leave Neu Bag(s) in with the flower to improve absorption and retention. Remove the bag before use.
